सर्वर क्या है?

इन्टरनेट पर दो तरह के लोग होते हैं. एक तो वो जो इन्टरनेट पर मौजूद जानकारी को पढ़ते हैं या उसका उपयोग करते हैं और दूसरे वो होते हैं जो इस जानकारी को अपलोड करते हैं. इन दोनों के बीच की जो कड़ी है वो है कोई वेबसाइट या फिर वेबपेज. इस वेबपेज पर एक व्यक्ति जानकारी को अपलोड करता है और दूसरा उसे पढ़ता है. इस जानकारी को इन्टरनेट पर रखने के लिए जगह की जरूरत होती है. ये जगह ऑनलाइन हमें मिल जाती है और इस जगह को ही सर्वर कहा जाता है.

अगर आप थोड़ा बहुत यूट्यूब के बारे में जानते हैं तो आपको पता होगा की आपको विडियो किसी व्यक्ति को दिखने के लिए यूट्यूब पर अपलोड करना पड़ता है. जब आप उसे अपलोड करते हैं तो वो यूट्यूब के सर्वर पर चला जाता है और जिस पर आपके चैनल के नाम से एक अकाउंट बना होता है. इस सर्वर पर आपका सारा डाटा मौजूद रहेगा और आप या कोई व्यक्ति जब चाहे तब इसका उपयोग कर पाएगा.

इसी तरह वेबसाइट पर भी होता है. Youtube पर सर्वर हमें मुफ्त में मिल जाता है लेकिन वेबसाइट के मामले में ऐसा नहीं होता है. वेबसाइट पर आप जो डाटा अपलोड करते हैं यांनी आप जो Text और Image उस पर अपलोड कर रहे हैं उसके लिए आपको सर्वर की जरुरत होती है ताकि आप उसे इन्टरनेट पर रख सकें. इसके लिए आपको पैसे चुकाने पड़ते हैं जिसे Hosting भी कहा जाता है. सर्वर आपके काम पर निर्भर करता है. कई जगह पर आपकी जानकारी रखने के लिए आपको फ्री सर्वर मिल जाता है और कई जगह पर आपको इसकी कीमत चुकनी पड़ती है.

सर्वर के प्रकार

सर्वर अलग-अलग तरह के होते हैं जो अलग-अलग काम में आते हैं.

वेब सर्वर

वेब सर्वर एक ऐसा सर्वर है जो वेबसाइट और वेबपेज को चलाने का काम करता है. इसे Computer Program भी कहा जाता है. इसका मुख्य काम वेब पेज को स्टोर करना, वेब पेज को प्रोसैस करना और वेब पेज को डिलीवर करना. इसमें कम्युनिकेशन के लिए HTTP का उपयोग किया जाता है. आपने देखा होगा की किसी भी वेबसाइट के शुरू में http लिखा आता है. इसका प्रयोग हर वेबसाइट में किया जाता है.

एप्लिकेशन सर्वर

एप्लिकेशन सर्वर एक ऐसा सर्वर है जो उपयोगकर्ता और संघटन के Backend Business Application या Database के सारे एप्लिकेशन को चलता और संभालता है. ये एक ऐसा फ्रेमवर्क होता है जहां पर एप्लिकेशन को डेवलप करने और चलाने के लिए Application Server का उपयोग किया जाता है. इनका नाम आपने सुना ही होगा PHP, JAVA, .NET framework.

प्रॉक्सी सर्वर

इस सर्वर को Proxy भी कहा जाता है. ये एक यूजर और इन्टरनेट के बीच एक Gateway का काम करता है. जब एक यूजर प्रॉक्सी सर्वर से जुड़ता है और किसी सर्विस के लिए अनुरोध करता है तो यह उस अनुरोध को सरल बनाने और उसकी जटिलता को नियंत्रित करने के लिए मूल्यांकन करता है. ये Network Connection Sharing, नेटवर्क डाटा फिल्टरिंग और डाटा केचिंग करने के लिए क्लाईंट प्रोग्राम और एक्सटर्नल सर्वर के बीच मिडिएटर का काम करता है.

डाटाबेस सर्वर

डाटाबेस सर्वर एक वेयर हाउस जैसा होता है जहां पर एक वेबसाइट का Data Store करके रखा जाता है और उसे मेंटेन किया जाता है. इस सर्वर का काम होता है की इसमें जो डाटा है उससे डाटा को एक्सैस करना और पुनः प्राप्त करने के लिए सेवाएँ देना होता है.

मेल सर्वर

इसके नाम में ही इसका काम छुपा है. ये एक ऐसा सर्वर है जो हमारे ईमेल सिस्टम को संभालता है. इन्टरनेट पर हर किसी का एक ईमेल अकाउंट होता है और उस Email Account पर ढेर सारा डाटा होता है. उस डाटा को रखने के लिए सर्वर की जरूरत होती है. मेल सर्वर को Mail Server Transfer Agent (MTA) भी कहा जाता है. आपने देखा होगा की जब आपको ईमेल किसी को भेजते हैं तो वो झट से उसके पास चले जाता है. ये सारा काम मेल सर्वर यानि MTA का ही होता है.

एफ़टीपी सर्वर

एफ़टीपी का पूरा नाम फ़ाइल ट्रांसफर प्रोटोकॉल है. इसका काम होता है Online File Transfer करना. जब आप किसी Browser पर किसी वेबसाइट को ओपन करते हैं तो आपको इसी Protocol की मदद से उस फ़ाइल को दिखाया जाता है जिसे आपने सर्च किया है.

सर्वर कैसे काम करता है?

सर्वर के काम करने का तरीका समझना आसान है लेकिन इसकी प्रोसेस काफी मुश्किल है. सर्वर के काम करने के तरीके को समझने के लिए हम एक उदाहरण लेते हैं. मान लीजिये. आपने इन्टरनेट पर कोई वेबसाइट सर्च की. आप उसका नाम लिखेंगे. इसके बाद आपका ब्राउज़र उस वेबसाइट को होस्ट करने वाले सर्वर से संपर्क करेगा और उस ब्राउज़र पर वो वेबसाइट दिखने के लिए अनुरोध करेगा.

इसके बाद ब्राउज़र आपके द्वारा डाले गए यूएलआर को तीन हिस्सों में बात देता है. पहला हिस्सा http होता है जिसे प्रोटोकॉल कहा जाता है. दूसरा Server name या वेबसाइट का नाम होता है जिसे आप डोमैन भी कहते हैं. तीसरा उस फ़ाइल का नाम होता है जिसे अपने ओपन किया है. ये कोई पेज या फिर कोई पोस्ट हो सकती है.

अब ब्राउज़र उस वेबसाइट की सारी जानकारी को IP address में बदल देता है. आपको बता दें की हर वेबसाइट का अपना IP Address होता है जो सबसे अलग होता है. यही कारण है की आप जिस वेबसाइट पर जाना चाहते हैं उसी पर जाते हैं. इसके बाद ब्राउज़र और सर्वर आपस में कनैक्ट हो जाते हैं और आप जो जानकारी जानना चाहते हैं उसे बताते रहते हैं.

सर्वर डाउन क्यों होता है?

आपने कई बार लोगों के मुह से सुना होगा की सर्वर डाउन हो गया है काम नहीं हो पाएगा. एक सर्वर का काम होता है मांगी गई जानकारी को देना लेकिन जब वो ये काम नहीं कर पाता है तो ये कहा जाता है की सर्वर डाउन हो गया है. इसका मतलब की आप जिस काम के लिए किसी वेबसाइट पर अनुरोध कर रहे हैं वो नहीं हो पा रहा है और आपको Server Not Found या Server Not Responding बताया जा रहा है.सर्वर डाउन होने के कई कारण हो सकते हैं जैसे Network Porblem, Application Crash, Operating System Crashes, Power Failure आदि.

अब आप सर्वर के बारे में कई बाते समझ गए होंगे. सर्वर का सीधा सा मतलब है की ये एक ऐसी जगह है जहां पर इंटरनेट पर मौजूद वेबसाइट की जानकारी स्टोर होती है ताकि जब कोई इन्हें जानने के लिए अनुरोध करे तो ये आसानी से डिस्प्ले हो सके.
